Opus Productions | Spotify Strategy Session

Opus Productions is a recording studio in Newcastle, specialising in bringing your song ideas to life, from snout to tail. What we mean by that is we can take whatever song idea you have - whether that be a hook on a voice memo, or a fully realised track – and make it ready for release. That could include help with writing, arranging, even executing instruments if needed. But it doesn’t stop once the song is ready, we also help you give the song the best chance to be heard, guided greener artists through the sometimes-daunting process of getting your songs distributed and playlisted. The studio is run by Matt McLaren and Nick Gill. Matt has well over 15 years producing release quality songs, having helped release 1000s of tunes, while Nick has worked in commercial radio for 16 years on- and off-air. This is a service for artists, usually at the beginning of their release career. Having released 100s of songs themselves, and guided many more in the best practises to get your songs heard, Opus can tell you how to set up your artist profile for success. To start, we ask you to fill out an artist questionnaire to gauge what you have tried in the past (if you haven’t tried anything, that’s totally fine!) and what has worked for you, so we can tailor the session to your needs. From there, we sit down for a 90-minute session online or face-to-face, and step you through what you need to do to give your songs the best chance at success on Spotify and other DSPs.
