Jason Sweeney

Jason Sweeney has been on a queer music odyssey for over three decades. In that time (ie the early 1990s) he’s made music and performed in bands such as Pretty Boy Crossover, The Millards, Sweet William, Other People’s Children, School of Two and Luxury Gap.

Between 2016-2026 he made a series of albums simply under his Sweeney moniker. His project Panoptique Electrical, an ambient/instrumental collective, has released albums since 2007 with Naarm/Melbourne label Sensory Projects and Greek label Sound in Silence. He has collaborated with many artists over the years, including Vincent Giarrrusso (Underground Lovers), Richard Adams (Hood) and an array of ragtag associates. His music has received international acclaim through independent radio playlists and a 2014 award for an ambient ‘quiet music’ project through TED, taking to the stage at TimesCenter in New York City. He has produced many music videos for his work and has been seen on ABC TV's RAGE.
