File Explorer is the loose cannon of Naarm's dance music scene. Unable to sit still in a lane, his recorded music draws on established genres like Jazz, Bossa Nova and Funk but respectfully filtered through his lens of internet corruption, video game nostalgia and club culture. File Explorer started the club night, Phantasy Break, in early 2025 to champion the sounds of Footwork from Chicago and Jungle from London. He took this opportunity to showcase alternative dance music in Naarm with queer, trans, and femme selectors. It's a safe space away from the bro-culture of Drum and Bass and a place to truly let loose.
