Melbourne-based artist Ruby Ester Mae weaves clarinet melodies into layered electronic atmospheres under the name “Clariloops”. Drawing on a foundation in classical music and a deep passion for ambient electronica, Ruby uses clarinet, effects pedals, and synthesisers to create meditative sonic journeys that invite deep listening and introspection. What began as a personal experiment in 2020 has grown into a project that has found listeners around the world. In 2025, Ruby opened for Ichiko Aoba at Forum Theatre (Melbourne), a milestone that speaks to the resonance of her work. With five self-released titles and collaborations alongside IKSRE, Six Missing, and Garreth Brooke, Clariloops continues to explore compositions that are tranquil yet dynamic, balancing improvisation with careful structure.
